The wrinkly lady paused and looked at me and then smiled and said something in German. I wasn’t sure where to look. I know I must have had this stunned look on my face. I just found out five seconds ago that there are no clothes aloud in this area - at all. And here I am in a huge white robe and she is wearing nothing. Not a thing, not a towel, not underwear. Sleeping well in the comfy bed and air conditioning, and deciding against fighting with the thousands of tourists to go up to the castle, Beaver made the most of the large selection on offer and had a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, then went on to the next stop Villach. The bus to Salzburg station left right outside the hotel and in no time Beaver had managed to get tickets for the train to Villach and the bus from Villach to Venice as that was direct ...

... mountains. The water of the Soca River is bright turquoise and absolutely beautiful! The town we are in tonight, Bovec, is very small. The apartment is nothing to get excited about, but it's only 1 night and it's relatively inexpensive! We have loved every minute of our travels in Slovenia. Tomorrow we will drive through the country's only national park, which has 50 hairpin turns...something tells me that will be both exciting and ...

As regards our Romanian holiday we have booked our accommodation, a real mixture of smart(ish) hotels, wayside B&Bs and self catering. We have the outline of a route-around 4000 kms in total taking us over the Transalpina and the Transfagarasan via a few castles all the way to the Danube Delta on the Black Sea and back via the Iron Gate Gorge,Belgrade and Zargreb.

The following day Marg is booked into the towns major hairdresser where it appears most if not all of the staff speak no English at all so I think she is quietly a little nervous about the outcome but I have assured her the rainbow coloured crew cut will grow out before we return to Australia.
