... cars the whole time we were driving until we got back near the city.

The beach towns are totally deserted. All the hotels and cafés are shut up and no-one is around.
There are so many big apartments that have been started and just left unfinished due to the economic crisis. The beaches are lovely, but it wasn't a swimming afternoon. We had a game of Bolle with these completely round balls we found on the beach made out of some natural ...

What bliss.

Beyond the town lies greater Naxos: tiny villages ...

... the day goes like this: Fiona: "Matt, don't jump off that rock, there are rocks underneath." Matt: *jumps off rock* "OW! THERE'S ROCKS UNDERNEATH!" So Matt lost a chunk of skin off his toe and it was bleeding everywhere. Classic Matt. We stayed on the beach for a good three hours, before getting back on the boat and finally cruising back to the port, wind and sea spray cooling us down. I had a good chat to some Canadian girls who are yoga instructors on the way back - ...
