      ... other on a rope so that in the unlikely event that someone falls in, the person who is still onto of the glacier will hopefully arrest their fall. The idea is then that the person who fell into the hole, after cursing mercifully, will then either climb out or be pulled out. The problem then, is that you have to manoeuvre with this rope for the rest of the trip - wait for it….there is a link here… and travel at the pace of the slowest ...

      ... which gave me some time to look about, the road that lead up to my hostel had a most fantastic line of sight straight up to the Matterhorn. Interesting fact about Zermatt, it's a car free town! The hotels have these little miniature trucks (and I mean little, like almost golf buggy but longer sized) to transport guests and there seemed to be a bit of construction going on and they also had the little trucks, but otherwise entirely car free which was weird and kind of ...
