... at a church in another village to see the hand carved headstones in the graveyard. Each individual has a wooden plaque with his hobbies carved on one side and his/her profession on the other. The workmanship is remarkable with pictures of the deceased in frames. Not something that would withstand the elements in Florida. ... containing a scene of animal ice sculptures. And just for a laugh a stuffed toy of the unlucky squirrel from the movie 'Ice Age' was also frozen into the ice. With so much of the main attraction closed it only took a couple of hours before we we starting to get a bit bored, so we caught the next train down. ... Switzerland, I'd be long gone by now! I walked around Lake Zurich and enjoyed the stillness of it all: the swans and ducks, people out jogging and walking their dogs, boats lining the shore, leaves starting to change to their autumn colours. Yesterday afternoon I boarded the train to Interlaken. I might hole up here until Oktoberfest and in the meantime hike and try out some of the adventure this little mountain town has to offer. ... So, sorry but there is no photo of 'toboggan grannie' but if you ever find yourself in Wengen - look out for her.
Headed back to the train stop to find I had missed the train by 2 minutes - so did another round of the own and then headed back to the station to make sure I didn't miss the next one. Spent the next 15 minutes listening to the conversations of the locals. There are a lot of English in Wengen - monied up and spending their time between the snow and the sun of Spain. ...
