... room on the internet, assuming that shower meant bathroom. Not so. It meant a shower enclosure in the bedroom, the toilet being across the hall,and shared with another room. Not what we were expecting. No spare rooms that night, but able to "upgrade" for the following night.

Dumped the bags and off to Marienplatz. Very pleasant wandering around central Munich. Had Indian for dinner....just because we could.

... dinner. Store hours are very strange here. There was a big mountain run today with lots of visiting competitors, but none of the outdoor stores were open. In fact, they all closed down around 1 pm on Saturday. Half the stores are closed Saturday afternoon and nothing is open Sunday, which is strange for a tourist town. Tomorrow we are off to Solden. ... customers. He only kept 3 local beers, which made Pauls choice easier. Next thing you know, Paul's committed to a weiss wurst and pretzel to balance the weiss bier! Well, thats probably not quite fair, as the description of the locally made wurst was definitely appealing, and I was happy to share his plate. Good choice.

Fortunately dinner was just down the road, next door to our pension.

We caught the train to Kitzbuhel and said goodbye to Saltzburg. The ride is a couple of hours long and the route bypasses Germany, and so does a long loop around the mountains.
