    ... Swiss countryside I figured the hard work was done. I really couldn’t have been more wrong. The rail ticket already had four well-timed connections just to get us up on the top to enjoy the spot for 90 minutes. As if that was not complicated enough, the ticketing agent on the train told us that the train to our second stop was delayed an hour, so instead of changing trains at Bern, we should go on to Speiz and catch a train to Interlaken ...

    ... and after a train ride, then a gondola, then a narrow gauge railway ride, we finally reached our destination, Mürren. We chose it specifically because it's unreachable by public roads and therefore requires a little more effort to get to. The town is perched on a cliff at an elevation above 5,413 feet, has a tiny population of 450 and views of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau mountains. It is simultaneously low key and spectacular.
