... John Wayne, the Asian guy. He got to go up in the helicopter flew around a bit, landed on top of a mountain to try and wait for the rain to clear but no bingo. Then they charged him about 100 francs for the 'scenic flight' which when Clare found out she was not happy with. Dinner tonight was cheese fondue, which was a little strange cuz it was made with red wine so tasted quite strong. Then roast pork!!! So good to just have veggies ...

And we're off!

... drop of a hat. I called T on our plane to Zurich and left a message. I burst into tears, literally had to pull the phone away to not sound like a complete idiot. ... asked to just go to the supermarket to get some food which we did. So now armed with some food we get back to the unit and want to open the door that leads to outside to find that the blinds can't go up as the crank is faulty! Once back inside we continued on towards the ice palace which was carved out in the 1930s by two mountain guides. It covers an area of over 1000 m3 with lots of niches containing sculptures and passageways. Because of all the tourists it is now has to be cooled to a constant temperature of -3⁰ so it doesn’t all melt! It was a strange experience to be surrounded ...
