... We decided to head back down to the lake at Trubsee the station where you switch from the 1st to 2nd cable ways and spend some time there.

Despite Kirst and I not getting to sing "the hills are alive with the sound of music" at the top of Titlis our first day in Switzerland has been great. The quote for the day has to be the young American couple walking past us the guy asking "is that a natural feature" and the girls replying "what the Eifel Tower"

... and we even managed to score a bed! The next day (1st August) is National Swiss Day, so we had timed our visit very well. The whole town shuts for the day and is filled with stalls that sell all types of food and drink. It was a nice relaxing afternoon and evening with Lorna's friends. All topped off with fireworks at home. The following day was a day of relaxing and getting on top of the blog, washing etc!

... Not long into the gondola ride and we went through the clouds to reveal nothing but blue sky, for those who have never been on the mountains above the clouds, it looks absolutely incredible, like a sea of clouds with some snowy mountains sticking out of it. For those who have never had a fresh snow day with blue sky, this is even more incredible.
Phillip insisted on scaring the **** out of all of us on the way up the gondola with talk of crevaces ...

... We climbed up beside a really neat rock and as we reached the top, we could see lake Brienz and lake Thunn stretching out on either side of Interlaken. We could also see the peak we had visited in the morning and were quite amazed that we could cover so much distance in only one day. We then climbed down along the ridge for a ways before arriving in the flats with red blueberry bushes all around. If you continued on the ridge for about 6 hours, you could go ...

... a small practice Don and Kay were also outfitted with helmets, and what were to become known as scooters of death. Starting off slowly, it wasn't long before the nice serene ride down the mountain became the "Tour de Titlis" .
