To sum up, I must say I wouldn't recommend Chamonix as a must-see but it's a nice town to spend a few days but definitely not the best place for skiing. ...

Saturday

Driving in the luxury of the Benz into Charmonix for lunch
and then through the Mont Blanc 11.6km tunnel into Italy is fantastic and we take the road
leading up and over the St Bernard Pass. it's the highest mountain road pass in Europe 2300 meters. Lucas has put that
car through its paces on the twisting turning switchback roads and scared the
**** out of me on the hairpin bends but ...

... upgraded car Lukes jaw nearly hits the ground when he sees it is a Mercedes Benz GLA 200 turbo diesel. It is brand new. He is in absolute rapture.

We take the free shuttle from the parking station and make our way to the arrivals lounge with loads of time to spare and decide to stop and enjoy a coffee which is delicious.
