          Nice to be back

We came here in 2009 and nothing much has changed. So on TripAdvisor there are some complaints about it being a little date and in need of some TLC. Well I think that it is a bit unfair, though there is an element of truth. I on the other hand quite like the familiarity. The staff are great, the good is very good and the deco is nice enough. Ok our room is a little dated, but it's ok.

I would certainly come back for a third time.

Sunday Both of us slept later than intended. But we weren't in any rush, so headed for Conny's Ski Hire about 10:30 am to get of gear and lift passes. The first pair of boots I tried were a little big, so I was handed a smaller size. "These are brand new" said the assistant - Bonus! The journey from Innsbruck was in darkness, so we couldn't see how …

The visit to the Medieval times was a great surprise and something I will fondly remember from our Austrian adventure. Hall in Tirol where the restaurant is located was the "minting centre" for the Austral Empires and the old town truly feels Medievel (especially at night). One of my favourite things about Europe in general is "old doors" which are all unique and so different from Canada (even ...

Yay for dietary requirements! We've been fed terrible thick bum sandwiches so I switched to lactose free diet for the rest of the trip. There are two gluten free and two vegetarians on the trip and now I've joined their ranks. What this means is I get salads for lunch instead of horrible sandwiches. We have been fed so much bread on this trip that all of us are just sick of it. And so ...

We have two more one night stands. One in Rothenburg and one in Frankfurt before flying west to see our favorite daughter (Sally) and our three monsters (okay, we imagine we are also looking forward to seeing our other four ...

This entry is going to be devoted to a picture of day to day in Innsbruck. We've been here for just over 6 weeks and we are starting to sort things out. For the most part, it is the regular routine - girls go to school, Michael and I go to work, we have activities in the evening, etc. But there are some differences

One of the major differences revolves around food (of course!). Grocery store - beer/wine aisle here is as big as the cereal aisle at home. Cereal aisle here is ...
