Made it to the island of Shikoku. Crossed from Honshu via a very long bridge - Seto-Ohashi. If Len could get his hands on this he could have 10 extra harbour crossings and all with rail - twin track. Very impressive.
The rail ride from Kyoto to Okayama ( still in Honshu ) was interesting in that it was built up all the way (well until the last 15km). Didn't quite expect the cities or towns ...
