    ... salad with pomme frites. Very authentic restaurant according to our host Suzanne. We also had dessert of fruits and meringue and ice cream - hot. Then a trip over the road to the cathedral - amazing building circa 1433, great glass windows etc... And unfortunately the bell tower was closed so missed the 300 odd steps. Then a stroll though the old town and down to the river to see the old fortifications ...

    ... If it was sunny and hot, we could take the kids to the one of the public pools in the area or even venture out to a public beach on a nearby lake.
