... saw had a “back door” for deliveries, but instead the truck pulled up right in front of the shop, and an elevator would rise from street level to the truck deck level. The elevator would then be loaded, and all deliveries are taken underground to the basement of the store. When these lifts aren’t in use they are simply part of the street. Not noticeable at all.

As we ran out of things to do, Leon and I shared a 2 litre pitcher of beer whilst Hazel had a cup of coffee. It's OK to have to pints before lunch, right? Lunch, incidentally, was a giant pretzel. And I mean giant.
Then, alas, it was time to return to the hostel, pick up my bags and get the train and move on to Milan... Off to the San Siro tomorrow!

Back down the hill, my next stop was the Barengraben, where year-round you can see Bernese bears in a little pit. I did get to see one bear, but it made me a little sad because I had to imagine he was a bit cold - and bored in the pit.
