... really, really yummy lunch. We finished off our meal with some dessert. We got an apple strudel in a bowl of vanilla custard (yum) and a gigantic warm apple cake covered in whipped cream (also yum).

We then caught a train way back down the mountain and then walked the rest of the way home to Milly. There was no snow on that section but it was a good walk through a forest on a very windy path. It was ...

So we arrived in Lauterbrunnan in the evening to drizzly rain, in a small green valley, surrounded by mountains with waterfalls, and happy cows with bells and snow capped peaks. It was truly something you see on a postcard.

Aaron and I set out prior to 8am to allow plenty of time and quickly learned that the book was not inaccurate about the climbing involved during this stretch. We kept a methodical pace and passed another group that set out earlier than us. At a sign junction we paused to ...

Long drive from Paris to our destination in Switzerland (10 hours) - didn't seem as long though as we had introductions on the bus, MOST of them quite entertaining and so killed a few hours at least. Lauterbrunnen... is... STUNNING!! We were down in a valley surrounded by sheer cliff faces, snow-capped mountains and waterfalls. The local township was pristine and gorgeously quaint! We toured up ...
