          Amazing weather today - bright sunshine with slightly crisp temperature. Our guided walk started by taking the cable car half way up the mountain. We still walked up plenty of hills though!           ... their pastures become ski runs. We got some use of the toboggan ride too and I'm sure we will go on it again and get some photos next time. At the top of the cable car we found a lodge serving great apple strudel. Adrian had pancakes with apple sauce but they were not like any pancakes we have ever had before.           We got away at about 8:45 am this morning. The route we were planning to do was away from the lake and up into the foothills of the Alps. The weather was sunny, but windy and quite cold as we went up in elevation. We rode from Lindau back to Bregenz and from there headed inland. We had long climbs, and, with the wind, it was a challenging day for all of us.           ... abbey was built on the island, which started the development of the Lindau, by around 1079 a town started to be built and in 1805 it became part of Bavaria. It is another beautiful city with its medieval streets and painted buildings. We also spent some time sketching in the morning and the afternoon. It was another clear and warm day.
