Today we travelled to Bilbao to start our Wine, Walking & Tapas tour. ... prayer time. It was awesome... We were led through a narrow passage to the choir area in the balcony. It was really neat.. There are no beds here, just mats. I again struggled with my legs and being cold. I did put on my compression pants and that does help with the aching! The next morning we stayed for breakfast... The girls finally got to Santo Domingo around 9:45... We paid ahead for their rooms but the alb lock their doors at 10:00! They were exhausted after about ...

... and an apple. Not much but it seems to have done the job.

We were held up at the start as Richard's trekking poles were not in the bin where everyone dropped them the night before. Obviously someone had picked up the wrong ones and when they realised their mistake did not come back. I gave Richard my poles to help him with his sore knee and Warren gave me one of his to get us through the day.

... 7km. Three steep but shortish hills were a challenge and got the calves and glutes screaming for mercy. Saw a sign that said the hill was 10%, I think someone was taking the mick as there was no way it was 10%. We slogged on with the rest of the contingent into Viana for an early lunch (elevenses). Every damned town and village here sits on a hill so you really earn your Coffee breaks.

... made it to the first town, then Tammy decided she could push on to the second and then the third, Santo Domingo, our scheduled stop for the day. On the way to Santo Domingo the pain became extreme and Tammy walked the last 9km in her sandals. We covered 21km in total. I'm really proud of her.
