Acapulco during the early 2000's was a haven for sun-seeking, bar hopping tourists until war between drug cartels normally concentrated within the suburbs of Acapulco spilled toward the beachfront. None more publicized than the 2008 killing of 2 Canadian tourists by stray bullets in front of their hotel lobby. about our rentatruck with no name but in fact when things like this
happen we must take it all back.
We had only planned on a night here but
lets face it, when you're in a 5 star place for not much more than a
single room in downtown Jo'burg , would you a. take off at first
light, b. stay and have breakfast which cost about the same price as
we were paying for ...
... the Visa card did not work there!! We had to leave without it. Sorry but I bet the shop was cross as they had cut it! We walked back to the ship arriving at 4.00 utterly exhausted and with not much for your school. We were banking on Huatalco, Mexico the next day.
Acapulco was a lovely place, and the taxis were cheap. We had a good day and enjoyed it enormously.
