Today we moved off to Playa del Carmen and after some obligatory looking round and a nice cold beer I decided to take a trip to Tulum, another ruined Mayan settlement.

Really pleased I went because I was concerned it might be too similar to Chichen Itza but Tulum is right on the coast and generally feels less foreboding than its much larger and more famous cousin. It was more used for dwellings as well as temples ...
