    9. I miss brown people. I mean I really miss them. We don’t often enough appreciate how nice it is being surrounded by diverse people and cultures, people of all shapes, sizes, and lifestyles in the U.S. (at least in California). Almost every person we see here is white and skinny…not that there’s anything wrong with that…

    ... heading out of Trogir for Split (in Croatia). I made it and I am pretty happy with that!! We left Trogir for Split at 3pm and started the tour with a briefing from guides Marin and Elvis.     Our first impression of Dubrovnik even though we were sick and tired was wow!!! We struggled up to our apartment up 200 cobble stoned steps right in the heart of oldtown with the famous city walls not far above us.

    ... and wait in line for the next ferry, while tour guides find all their charges and people enjoy the sunshine on the lawns with picnics and ice creams and drinks. Dark clouds are gathering bur its still warm. We catch the ferry for the 15 minute ride back to the main dock and then a walk up 200 steps back to the car park.
