Off to Tivoli for the W/E. Going to see the CIRCA production "Beyond" at the Villa Adriana as part of the Festival Internazionale di Villa Aadriana. Mel's friend Terri is the technical director and has promised us tickets for the show.

Staying out of Rome about 40klms in cardinal apartments in Tivoli. Strange apartment on third floor and no lift, 51 steps in all. Tried to find hadrain villa which we eventually did but half of it closed so not paying 11euros. Decided to take train into Rome ...

We left Naples and enjoyed our hotel in the suburbs. As I looked for a way to the highway I noticed an 'Attraction' listed on my wonderful Pocket Earth App beside our route and out of curiosity clicked it. It turned out the be Solfatra, which is a 'just' extinct volume volcano and part of the so called Phlegrean Fields, a name I remembered out of my geological past. We had to go.
