On the bus by 8:30 with suitcases packed we headed for Ballenberg to visit the Swiss Open-Air Museum. This is an outdoor setting of over a hundred historical buildings from the 1300s and on. Our next objective is the dramatic Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen, which is the largest waterfall in Europe. The Rhine Falls is a picturesque setting & obviously a top tourist spot as the place was packed with tourists. They have boat rides over to the misty falls, just like at Niagra.

The pictures explain it all! Today we took a day trip down to the south of Switzerland to the beautiful Italian town of Bellinzona. Via train, the travel took about 3 hours each way but was well worth the visit. The town is located right outside of the Italian border and the Italian influence ...
