First stop today was Heidleberg. Beautiful city but not enough time to really look around. Many buses travelling one behind the other and tourists everywhere. Some of the younger ones climbed a very steep hill to look at a castle. Too much for John and I. We then went to Frieburg. It was Saturday and the market was on. Amazing fruit and vegetables. The pictures explain it all! Today we took a day trip down to the south of Switzerland to the beautiful Italian town of Bellinzona. Via train, the travel took about 3 hours each way but was well worth the visit. The town is located right outside of the Italian border and the Italian influence ...

We were greeted at the airport in Zurich by our coach's friend, Dave, who runs Ruder Club Thalwil, or the Thalwil rowing club. He led the way via train to this cute little town about 15 minutes outside of the city. Thalwil sits on the banks of Lake Zurich and offers stunning views of the Swiss Alps (more pictures from today to come later after I hook ...

    Luzern day 2

... a Cheese Festival in the Square today. It was very crowded, but lots of interesting signts. Of course, John had to sample everything! This part of Switzerland is more influenced architecturally by the Italians than the Germans, except for the language, and many of the buildings and artwork are distinctly Italian. Lots of great pictures. I'll share few. Last night we were exhausted and after an excellent ...
