Great town. It is my favourite Italian town so far. The others prefer Florence to Bologna but not me. I like the wide streets and bigger shops. The people are very chic and stylish and very friendly. They love their dogs and there are plenty of dogs of all types and sizes wandering around. Surprisingly, not that much doggy dos. Either the Bog Dogs are constipated or there is a doggy do fairy running around with a bag because I don't see many ...

Burials in Bologna

We broke for coffee and croissants before finishing our round of the city at the church of ...

Still we set off to find the National Gallery, which turned out to be about ten minute walk, and then went to lunch in a nearby cafe/bar as the gallery didn't open till two. Lunch was good and simple, but a bit pricey. We were tomdiscover though that this price is typical of Bologna. Ah well, can't have it all cheap you know! Then the gallery... Joy still hasn't come down to earth. She ...

Slowly making my way home

... The hotel had one but the prices were kind of high for what I wanted. Luckily during my walk around the neighbourhoods surrounding the hotel, I found a grocery store. So I picked up a small package of prosciutto, cheese, a couple of croissants, and a couple of plums for dinner and had a picnic in my room. Sounds boring right? Well...I needed some down time after the stimulation of Istanbul so was perfect for ...
