    ... this lovely ship and like most paddle
    steamers had to simply stand and watch the mighty big engine tuning the cranks
    for the paddles. There certainly is something about these paddle steamer engines
    as one can simply sit there and watch it working for hours.

    ... my extreme canyoning, I hungout with the Katie and Amy from Oklahoma We decided to make our lunch from the local super market and then go hiking around the lakes. For some reason, the stoves took forever to cook our pasta so it did take just a little while for us to make our lunch. We ate pasta and fruit! By far my cheapest meal in Swiss.     ... the train station and took a train to a cable car which took us direct to Lauterbrunnen. From there we walked back to our hotel and got ready for the evening. Dinner was christmas dinner with crackers and turkey. I then went to the room and waited until 11:30 when the family got together to have New Years with the church bells, fireworks and the Swiss cowbells

    This morning after breakfast we had to check out of our room as the hotel didn't have two nights available in the same room. It took awhile to get everything packed up again including the cot. We then decided to take the Gondola up to Grutschalp and train to Murren. The Gondola was quite big and held at least 50 people standing. It was glass all around and practically went straight up the mountain like an elevator! It swayed back and ...
