... predicaments. It just goes to show how confidence, wits, and awareness are key factors when traveling. After three days in Poprad, I thought Slovakia didn't have much more to offer. So, I packed my bags, and took a train east and south, the quickest route out of here. And we were perplexed about the beer labels and menus here. They offer beers with either 10 degrees or 12 degrees. At least it was the degree sign. The 12 degrees is slightly more expensive. I tried the 10 degree version of the Saris brand and it was not great, kinda like a bud light.

The village is cute and the streets leading up to the castle are lined with vendors selling everything from candy to langos (fried bread) to souvenirs. The castle itself is well maintained, with an extensive park surrounding it. There were several places where you could see the depth of the walls, which must have been at least 3 or 4 feet thick.
