Some of the large famous buildings are marble, which has created some issues for them because the salt in the water causes destruction of the marble, but non the less they add something even more special to the city, and are enjoyable to touch. Murano is a separate island that is well known for its glass blowing but otherwise is unremarkable. It took around 50 minutes by water bus to get there. Video Girl woke in the middle of the night and discovered the Air Traffic Controllers strike had been called off.
