... It's across the canal from St Marks so it would be a slightly vantage point but much less crowded. We walked around the area quite a bit, also less crowded and more peaceful. ... art. As a bonus, we were able to view a special exhibit of journals, sketches, paintings and other art by Leonardo Da Vinci. Knowing it would be crowded, we opted to make our way to St. Mark's Basilica so that we made certain that we saw it. ... did too! So SAD!

We checked in, went through security, grabbed some food and waited. Time passed quickly and we boarded the flight (where we were all split up unfortunately!). The flight was boring, sitting without everyone else but it went quickly and we met up again at baggage reclaim before saying our goodbyes in Gatwick airport. I felt so sad leaving those guys, they really made that 2 weeks an awesome time! :)

... journey we have travelled about 1900km and in doing so have spent about 90 Euros in tolls. Think yourself lucky back there in Sydney Mum and Debs.... The M5 is cheap!!!

What isn't cheap in Venice is the accommodation. As we changed our plans at late notice, good accommodation with parking was hard to come by. And expensive! And small! Picture the smallest hotel room that you could ever imagine. Then subtract 50% of the size ...

A short walk from the ferry landing brought us to the rail station, and shortly we were on our way to Milano Centrale.
