... lost Venice is tiny alleys and canals with shoulder to shoulder restaurants, shops and doesn't have any rhyme or reason but you keep walking down winding alleys and you either hit the Rialto Brige, Grand Canal or San Marco Square. We had seen loads of people drinking a orange drink and were very curious as to what is it. Another couple beside us told us it was Spritz and was really quite nice so we ordered one. ... I made to the tour book in this one entry?) and the food was wonderful. The
best part was a cheese plate with 6 kind of cheese. We asked what they were and after an entire explanation in Italian from our waiter, we still have no idea what they were except that some were made with cow’s milk and some were made with sheep’s milk.

We took the train home, and after a late trip back and then carrying on into the night drinking wine ...

We were up extra early today for the four hour drive to Venice. Rozanne and her family picked us up in their two cars and we headed off. About halfway we stopped for breakfast and for the drivers to revive with a coffee. We stopped at a petrol station like nothing I've ever seen. There were stations on both sides of the freeway with an enclosed overhead walkway connecting the two. It was like a supermarket, patisserie, deli and gourmet food store but ...
