Day 11 - A day of much eating & drinking

... as far as my legs would take me before having to stop and ask for some directions from some locals. Through our stunted anglo-italian conversation I learned that the Primadengo campsite was "sempre". It no longer existed.

Miffed that I had wasted more energy that I didn’t have, I headed back to Chiggiogna, though the campsite was nice enough and had a restaurant bar on site. However, with low cloud settling over ...

... rarity in Switzerland, with plaques dedicated to four wars that I've never heard of... Old Chur is pressed right up against the wooded mountains, with a castle and cathedral right next to the mountain, to top off my charming evening. Only one thing I'm missing: an internet cafe so I can upload and safeguard my pictures. I ask around, but no luck. Day 277 2 hrs, 5 kms From Tumins there's a hiking/biking trail that gently slopes back down to the flat, wide valley, with lots of folks out and about, as usual, all giving me a cheery greeting. Usually it's just a "Gutte" rather than a full "Gutten tag". Back across the river again, I reach a larger town with has modern apartment buildings as well a a more traditional Main Street. As I ...

... of town on the plaza, easily accessible to everyone. In Switzerland, it's often up on a hill. It's like, even to go pray people like to get exercise! It take me a little while to find the way up to the church and gaze back up the valley I came through yesterday. The savagely beautiful Malvia Gorge seems so far ...
