... from the usual maintenance, painting and repairs we always have to do, our projects are done here and with itchy feet, perhaps it is time to find a new one. Will the boat sell next year? It was a long 5 hour drive today to get to the Pyrenees but it was worth every minute of it to round a corner and see the snow capped mountains in the distance. We arrived at our campsite at Bagneres de Bigorre just south of Tarbes in the Haut Pyrenees about 2pm and were amazed to see the elusive yellow ball (aka the sun) in the sky….yeee haaa!!


Our campsite is stunning, situated at the foot of the Pyrenees, there are currently only 2 vans staying ...

... headed into L’Hospitalet Andorra, with a view to taking the toll tunnel through the mountains. Fortunately it was closed and we were treated to a magnificent ride over the pass on the N20 and into Spain. Swung through the enclave of Llivia and then continued onto one of our favourite roads from 2005, the N152. This road made photos in Bike Rider mag before we bought the pub, and it didn't disappoint this time.

... if you wanted. There were so many religious shops selling everything religious you can think of right next to each other. There would have had to be about 100 of them in Lourdes. We also saw so many priests and nuns in full outfits strolling around. Prayers, masses, rosary and confession go all day every day. You can buy candles that are 2m high to put at the alters. ... on our way to Lourdes, so we spent some time there. Robert had done business there in the past and treated Rosemarie to a tour of its lovely, tree-lined streets and many green parks. The city is spacious, pretty, and very livable. And many of the streets are named after American presidents the French admire, such as Orly Place de Wilson and Rue de Franklin Roosevelt.
