... the hike was very steep downhill. (Tomorrow we go up!) We passed plenty of cows and sheep and a few donkeys. No wild life, but the birds were singing to us while we trekked through the forest and many of the cows and sheep jingled their bells as we passed. Part of the hike followed a nice, fast moving river. We enjoyed beautiful blue skies and sunshine. We started in Les Houches at about ...

Today we crossed the 2685 mts, the highest point for the walk, just before we hit the snow, and after going down 900 mts in elevation over about 5 kms, we then started climbing back up, gaining 900 mts in elevation in a long uphill climb to reach tonight's refuge, ELISABETO. Our campsite had an aqua park for the kids, with jacuzzi for the adults. Shame the water was still a bit cold, as the nights do get quite cold still. All had a great time though. Loads of parasailing to be seen off the mountains. Must have been an amazing experience.

... to find the hotel we had booked had no internet to organise our next day. After a quick tea we blobbed in front of the TV – couldn’t understand a word but are all getting pretty tired so just needed to tune out for a while.

Not a big day for photos, took some in the picturesque mountains in Switzerland and of this suspension bridge we came across with a 142 m drop. Apparently it is famous in the ...
