      ... land which goes around the mar menor. It was very quiet and not much was happening there but it was still a cool place with the Mediterranean sea on one side and the mar menor on the other. The sunset was amazing over the mountains on the way back. Both the sunsets and sunrises here are very nice and they are beautiful colours!

      Had a wonderful afternoon exploring Castillo de Sant Barbara (hugecastle/fort at the top of hill in Alicante) and listening to some of the 3 Reyes (3 Kings/Wisemen) festivities from the top of the castle. Tonight the 3 Kings (Wisemen) arrive! There were huge celebrations here in Spain. We could hear a marching band and see signs of a parade and huge crowds from the top of the castle. Later we saw on TV lots of celebrations all over Spain with kings and beautifully dressed women ...

      ... and started to play Christmas Carols, everyone, but everyone, just joined in. The atmosphere was just so different from anything I have every experienced.

      Even some cars were decorated with Christmas stuff.

      ... up to watch the acts, so I wasn't lonely for long. Again, more dancing (in the afternoon), and singing along to Tina Turner stuff etc., The finale, was a brilliant Carol singing session with a 28 piece brass band. They handed out song sheets so everyone could join in and really get into the Christmas spirit, which is hard to do with the sun shining and the warmth of the day. Awesome band, made a nice change ...
