... book "Paris". We proceeded to the Sorbonne, a beautiful building where we stopped for tartare du boeuf. Nearby were several pedestrian streets which we found to be very touristy - not sure what that says about us!! We took the subway a stop further to see if there were any activities starting up since the fête des vendanges (harvest festival) begins today - nothing special was happening yet so we are guessing that tomorrow and the weekend are the big ...

... places we go here we get a soundtrack, with buskers everywhere. We wandered down this street with lots of little cafés and got ourselves some crepes with bananas and chocolate sauce. The chocolate was insanely good! Then it was off to ten Champs de Élysées on our way to the Arc de Triomphe, which is in the centre of the city. It is a beautiful arch, built by Naploeon to welcome his victorious soldiers home from ...

... to enjoy the sunshine and walking around the streets. We worked our way from the gardens, along the Seine past the Sorbonne and then climbed up to the Parthenon. This is currently undergoing a major restoration. We were pleased to find that out as we have been curious all week to know what the big white structure dominating the skyline was. We found a restaurant for lunch and ...
