    Honeymoon in Spain

My wife and I recently visited Costa Brava (April 2013) as part of a two week honeymoon in Spain. Our stay at the Hotel Aigua Blava could not have been better. Although this was the end of the "off season" and some of the amenities were not operating, the Hotel was better than advertised. The views of the coast are stunning. The room was a very nice size, with a king sized bed, plenty of closet space and a sitting area with a coach and coffee table.

The staff was amazingly friendly. The main restaurant serves great food prepared in the typical Catalan fashion. It was a little too cold for a dip in the pool, but the grounds of the resort were very well maintained.

The Hotel staff sent a bottle of Cava to our room in celebration of our honeymoon. Everyone associated with the Hotel went out of their way to make our stay special.

Well, if you want somewhere with stunning views, friendly staff, flawless menu and desserts to die for I highly recommend Hotel Aiguablava. The big table of us ordered quite possibly everything on the menu and there wasn't a single complaint. Dessert followed and there was no complaining, in fact no conversation, something's always good when it causes silence.
    Love this place!

... lots of bobbing boats in the harbour and thousands of people!!!! Today it was very hot again, 32 - 33 degrees with this heat wave. A friend who's in France said they had been experiencing 40 degrees. Ugh. This little town was alive and humming with people. There was a big stage set up for a concert that night. We came to a little beach and just stared in wonder. Every square centimetre of sand was taken up with a beach towel and an ...

It was very hot and we had difficulty finding a place to eat, but when we did, one of the patrons kindly came over to translate for us. Must say fresh melon in this part of the world is outstanding. The only negative note about today, other than the heat, is that the coastal road is very busy with ...

As usual I just followed my nose and ended up fine - I emerged 1 block away from a sign indicating the next own we were to pass through, and 2 blocks later not only was I back on route but I found a great place to stop for a bite to eat. It was a quick trip down the highway to Girona for Caroline, Lucie and Arthur so they enjoyed lunch and an afternoon of visiting the old town in the centre of Girona. We headed back their ourselves later, relatively quickly and conveniently on the city bus, for a bit more sight-seeing and dinner. ...
