    Honeymoon in Spain

My wife and I recently visited Costa Brava (April 2013) as part of a two week honeymoon in Spain. Our stay at the Hotel Aigua Blava could not have been better. Although this was the end of the "off season" and some of the amenities were not operating, the Hotel was better than advertised. The views of the coast are stunning. The room was a very nice size, with a king sized bed, plenty of closet space and a sitting area with a coach and coffee table.

The staff was amazingly friendly. The main restaurant serves great food prepared in the typical Catalan fashion. It was a little too cold for a dip in the pool, but the grounds of the resort were very well maintained.

The Hotel staff sent a bottle of Cava to our room in celebration of our honeymoon. Everyone associated with the Hotel went out of their way to make our stay special.

Well, if you want somewhere with stunning views, friendly staff, flawless menu and desserts to die for I highly recommend Hotel Aiguablava. The big table of us ordered quite possibly everything on the menu and there wasn't a single complaint. Dessert followed and there was no complaining, in fact no conversation, something's always good when it causes silence.
    Love this place!

We had a quick spin along the beach front, weaving in and out between people, small dogs and random street furniture. It's always a nervous time seeing who's super fit. Some of the folk were very quick but I know they are not always the ones who make it to the end.

We eventually arrive at Camping Joan, Cambrils, 160 miles later.

We eventually get parked, after (mostly) dodging the low trees, two other vans, which arrived with us, have given up and left, we should have done the same!

One of the reasons we wanted to stay in the south-west of France was that we love the north-east corner of Spain – the Costa Brava – and wanted to be able to visit it.

We managed a couple of short trips, the first being a spur-of-the-moment dash across the border. One day, after lunch, we decided to have dinner in Spain and took off in the car, stopping briefly at Salvador Dali's house in Port Lligat for a photo. Then it was on to nearby ...

We walked through farmlands with a range of crops at various stages of growth. Corn crops that were drying out, tomatoes, rice fields, baby lettuce varieties. Even tasted a ...
