      Honeymoon in Spain

My wife and I recently visited Costa Brava (April 2013) as part of a two week honeymoon in Spain. Our stay at the Hotel Aigua Blava could not have been better. Although this was the end of the "off season" and some of the amenities were not operating, the Hotel was better than advertised. The views of the coast are stunning. The room was a very nice size, with a king sized bed, plenty of closet space and a sitting area with a coach and coffee table.

The staff was amazingly friendly. The main restaurant serves great food prepared in the typical Catalan fashion. It was a little too cold for a dip in the pool, but the grounds of the resort were very well maintained.

The Hotel staff sent a bottle of Cava to our room in celebration of our honeymoon. Everyone associated with the Hotel went out of their way to make our stay special.

Well, if you want somewhere with stunning views, friendly staff, flawless menu and desserts to die for I highly recommend Hotel Aiguablava. The big table of us ordered quite possibly everything on the menu and there wasn't a single complaint. Dessert followed and there was no complaining, in fact no conversation, something's always good when it causes silence.
      Love this place!

Rafa came to pick us up in his vintage car - 30 years old and we heard it coming about 3 minutes before we saw it. We started our day at the stables brushing and then tacking up the horses. Rowan's grey was so muddy it needed a shower to come clean. Our trek today was up and down some fairly steep stony paths....we just held on and let the ...

Now trying to work out if I can get the Boat Race on the TV before we head into the medieval town of Besolu for dinner.....

Phil, Sophie and Sue visited the Arab baths built in 1194 and we all then walked along the path that is called St Christopher's Way taking many photos. We all thought the city was very pretty and well worth the visit.

The spanish do speak very quickly but we have been getting by with Sue knowing some Spanish and Phil with his Italian which has similar words.

That might sum up the current Boeschen philosophy. Especially since a new operator took over the churro truck near our house (though we're still never sure when it's open or it's closed. Guessing this as we come into the roundabout ...

So day 3 and 4 of our stay was horrid, the winds were pounding the place, poor Fifi was being knocked about and seriously there were a couple of times when we thought the roof was gonna go, I don't think I have ever been in such ...
