Spain Day 1--Leaving on a jet plane

A travel blog entry by ryan.t.northrup

The day started off a little shaky. The flight from Mobile to Charlotte, NC was delayed about 30 minutes. Not really a problem, as we will be spending the next 12 hours or so either on a plane or in an airport; however, we only have a 45 minute layover in Charlotte which means we have to recreate the old O.J. Simpson (back when he was just an …

No much to report, we are dropping like flies, from 11 to 6 by tomorrow. The weather is not great, overcast and windy but to sun never fails to make an appearance. The waters choppy which you think would impact the numbers at the beach but it seems people don't quit as easily as we do. Sophie and I are really working ******* our education, one that …

Lined with incredible cobble stoned streets along the River Onyar, many have pointed the city out to be comparable to Venice with its "Cases de L'Onyar", these picturesque houses hanging over the river with an incredible view of the city and the snowy mountain tops in the background.

    Honeymoon in Spain

My wife and I recently visited Costa Brava (April 2013) as part of a two week honeymoon in Spain. Our stay at the Hotel Aigua Blava could not have been better. Although this was the end of the "off season" and some of the amenities were not operating, the Hotel was better than advertised. The views of the coast are stunning. The room was a very nice size, with a king sized bed, plenty of closet space and a sitting area with a coach and coffee table.

The staff was amazingly friendly. The main restaurant serves great food prepared in the typical Catalan fashion. It was a little too cold for a dip in the pool, but the grounds of the resort were very well maintained.

The Hotel staff sent a bottle of Cava to our room in celebration of our honeymoon. Everyone associated with the Hotel went out of their way to make our stay special.

Well, if you want somewhere with stunning views, friendly staff, flawless menu and desserts to die for I highly recommend Hotel Aiguablava. The big table of us ordered quite possibly everything on the menu and there wasn't a single complaint. Dessert followed and there was no complaining, in fact no conversation, something's always good when it causes silence.
    Love this place!
