... and we found the service a little stuffy (perhaps close to the cliché of an old-school fancy French restaurant).

After two delightful months in the south of France, we were trying hard to keep a sense of perspective. To steal a phrase from a friend (thanks Dav), it’s a ‘first world problem’ when you’re main complaint for the day is that the three Michelin star restaurant you dined at didn’t completely knock your socks off!

... city wall, which gives wonderful 360 degree views of the city, a couple of church/cathedrals and some pretty good places to eat as well. It's a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. One thing I like about cities with beautiful old buildings such as Girona is that they spotlight the buildings when it gets dark, making the town very scenic to walk through at night.

The rest of the walk explored other little laneways and the various views down to the sea, then we were back around the bay, past the notable Modernista home, Maison Serinyana, checking out the shops and the bar with the closest position on the coastline.

... the beach waiting for the van to arrive and the keys to be handed over.

When we got it we were off......Tony and I and Alex, and wouldn’t you know it the van was rainbow coloured, poor Tony, that’s the only thing he said he didn’t want. So he drove off in the amazing techno-coloured camper van. Girona here we come.
