Well just a quick write-up today.
We had a long journey from the Alps to the French Riviera and the border village of Menton. We added about two hours to the trip as we decided to hug the Italian Riviera coastline, sometimes crawling along through the traffic at a snail's pace. Those Italians loves their scooters.

After a rest back at our hotel we set off for a visit to nearby Monaco. Unfortunately we'd missed the Grand Prix by just a few days! We caught a bus there and the 8km trip took 45 minutes on the busy winding sea front road I didn't mind because it gave me time to enjoy the most amazing views and admire the most amazing sea front houses. ... whole lot to actually see in Cannes so I was only there for about half a day and most of that was wandering around the streets but it was definitely worth it.

In Nice I went to a few museums - chagall, matisse, and the archaeology museums. They were all free which was good because I probably wouldn't have paid to see them otherwise. If I was a big fan of either Chagall or Matisse it would probably be a different story but they're both not really my thing. ...
