Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

This is a simple hotel, with simple rooms, with a simple breakfast, that will do job.
If you want a pool, a breakfast with 3 miles and a runaway to put the car...this is not what you are looking for.

And so with the area looking like a dump, we hopped back on the tube and went to the very centre of Milan where we saw ...
... just before sunset, ahhh Italy.
Must be Christmas, I Found a Holly Berry Bush.
I ran across this bush at the top of Bergamo that looked oddly familiar.
Maybe I Should Buy a House.
I loved the look of this building, though with the cost of things in Italy being so expensive compared to what I am used to in the USA I am sure it is well out of my price range.
