      ... to scores of hippies flocking here in the late 60's to take up rent free residence in the caves used for burials in Roman times.
      We parked at the beach, there were a couple of other tourist cars parked, but no sign of the hippies, we were expecting groups of wrinkled faces with grey ponytails to be here!

      ... they looked like rows of Tibetan stupas in lines at the side of the roads, at one place we waited whilst a tractor pulled a pickup out. Some villages had a variety of snow ploughs, diggers and tracked vehicles clearing smaller roads.       ... and the tall arched buildings where the sailing ships were built. This port was a very busy trading area in the Venetian times.       ... the road. We were out about an hour other than a couple of cars we didn't see a soul, this could be because of the thick fog of dried sea spray covering our glasses!!       The overnight hail, thunder and lightening disturbed us several times, we are reluctant to get up until the heating has warmed up. There are occasional breaks in the rain today, so we took the opportunity to take Logan out. We walked along the road which is flooded in places, were well wrapped up with full waterproofs on, the wind is bitting cold.
