Hotel Aeroehus

I was going to rent a bike and explore the island (about 15 miles long with Aeroskobing in the middle. It is cold, cloudy and looks like rain so I opt for the bus which runs hourly. I take it to Skoby at one end of the island. The island is mostly agricultural with wheat and corn fields. Water can be seen on either side since it is very narrow. ... eggs in the morning, I toss in cheese, snack is bread & cheese, dinner is hamburger with cheese and a flavor packet … Except for Gouda, my cheese selection is pretty much at random. Today’s is a smelly cheese but tastes good.

I walk to the local beach for the picnic. It is windy and a little chilly. 30 people out, families of course. Along the beach are these very interesting huts. They are about 6 feet by 6 feet, all decorated differently ...

... in the afternoon and met our Danish relatives for the evening. They brough us to tsee the big ships that were in the harbour - big wooden ships! Then we went to diner at an authentic danish restaurant where Luc and I had Svenborg Casserole (pork, bacon, and turkey in a paprika sauce) and roasted potattoes-- definitely one of the best meals we have ever had! Never felt so full in my life!

After diner we went to a cafe for drinks and desert! We headed home shortly after to pack!!

... or you won't get back in"...hehe...so it was funny, especially since dad had not driven a standard for a really long time. Although he basically mastered it, it was still funny when the car would stall in the middle of the street here and there. On our way back from teh castle, we were hungry and we had brought a snack with us - a baguette and leftover cake - So we though we woul dhave a snack in the car...but we did ...

... etc! It was fantastic!!!! We really really lvoed it!

The cottage is absolutely beautiful! We are directly on the Svenborg Sound, which is water from the Ocean! We went for a wonderful swim (ok I only went in to my knees because it was cold, but luc got in!) and we went kayaking...too much fun!!!!

Udrejsen foregik denne gang fra Sønderborg over København. Det forekommet mig at afgangen til Beijing er rykket lidt frem. Således er der kun ca. en times ventetid/ophold i København. It's a funny thing, because I sometimes end up with email addresses for people that I don't even care to remain in contact with, but then I meet this incredible girl I click with, and I don't even ask for a name, let alone an email address! Sometimes I wonder what I'm thinking ... how could I one day stalk her without knowing her first name and place of employment???

... for a pleasant sightseeing. What really first surprised me was the fact that Svendborg was not flat at all. Right after I had left the train, it was clear to me I would, if I wished to get to the town centre, for the first time have to climb up and negotiate some altitude difference. How much? Twenty meters? Thirty? In some other places it would be nothing special, but in a country flat as a shallow plate as Denmark is, it almost bordered on a mountain hike ...

... duke needs to walk through the tree tops. He also has a museum filled with antique ford cars and vintage metal signs for Firestone and Goodyear.
