... we are fortunate to find Ristorante Bar Peter that has stayed open. It is thronged with motorcyclists sheltering from the hail. The lunch there is surprisingly good, and we are impressed with a Serbian waitress who speaks five languages fluently, including Spanish. She tells us that she is engaged to a Spaniard from the Canary Islands and will be be going to live there this summer.

We get through a relaxed lunch. Perhaps too relaxed, as we realise that we don’t have time ...

... Maria ! It seems we have arrived in town at the start of a festival which means restaurants are very busy but we were lucky enough to see a free band concert in a square last night which was our second free concert in Italy so far. ... fries(fancy style) and Ash had spaghetti bolognaise. The dishes were expensive, mine costing about $30 and Ash's costing $25 but what shocked us even more was the €6 each bottle of coke we had with it. That's $18 for two bottle of coke! And no the bottles weren't gold! And no there was no alcohol in the drink either. Massive rip off! Luckily the food was good otherwise I'd have been really spewing! Our last night in Europe. We are looking forward to the comforts of home ...

    The Dolomites Day 2

... We packed our suitcase ready for the journey home then went downstairs for a beer at the bar. In Italy they give you tapas like potato chips, bruschetta, sandwiches or olives etc. when you order a beer, even a small. It's a good idea! If we had this in Perth we wouldn't have so much drunken behaviour because people always have food in their stomach. We went to the restaurant and had another great 4 course meal even if we couldn't finish each course because they were so ...
