Thanks to noisy and disrespectful humans slamming doors and generally making a great lot of noise in the hotel I got up early after a rather sleepless night. The noise in this hotel was simply unbelievable from kids running constantly up and down the corridor and then others slamming every door and making the whole building vibrate. There would be less noise in a large factory than this place.

Day 286 6 hrs, 4.6 kms Day totals: 16 hrs, 21.1 kms The train continues on down the valley, past miles of apple orchards. But these aren't like the apple orchards I'm used to seeing in Pennsylvania, USA. Here the trees are more like narrow bushes, spaced and cut with precision so farm vehicles can go between the rows and workers can pick straight from the truck. No ladders needed here. Interesting to see an Italian orchard ...

Day 286 4 hrs, 4.4 kms I do stop in a fairly large city on the way. I do want to get a better feel for this unique Italian-Austrian region.
