... to be home for Christmas on time.
After another night with girls from South Korea in my room that do not go to bed before 1 only to wake up again at 5 and to make lots of noise and light I look forward to my own room and own cosy bed.
I leave with a lot of new impressions and happy moments and memories. Vienna has some great museums and lots of nice buildings.
... of getting .5 or .3 litres, "gros" or "klein". Oh, and sometimes they offer beer mixed with lemonade, a "Radler", for which we haven't yet acquired a taste. And yes, it's cold enough to be refreshing. Don't even try to ask for a "light" beer.
The most common house wines are Zweigelt, red, or Gruner Veltliner, white. They're both very good. Soft drinks are available, but I really can't comment because I like my empty calories to include either ...

Vienna has a long and thriving “coffee culture”, which is a well known and loved aspect of culture here. We enjoyed the classic Café Melange at the historic Café Central, along with some tasty apple strudel, and then visited the Backerei Arthur ...
Well...touch wood...the trip this year started off rather mundane and almost, dare I say it, boring, orderly, and completely under control.
Our friends Terri and Rob very generously (if under rather well-oiled circumstances at a party at Mick and Rosemary's) offered, or almost insisted, that they drive us to the airport. We did call the next day and offer them an "out" but they insisted, and so we were collected and then chauffeured to the airport ...

My lunch was delicious. I chose a mozzarella and tomato salad drizzled with pumpkin seed oil and accompanied by a borek (phyllo pastry stuffed with feta cheese and basil, then baked). I also had a dish of olive tapenade on the side. Everything was SO delicious - even the olives, and I've always maintained I don't like olives. Bob had a lamb wrap which he also enjoyed very much.
