          ... I am getting better at keeping up while reading and "singing"!

          It was also a wonderful time to speak Swedish with Christine. She has always been a wonderful support in my transition to Swedish life. Her patience in coaching me with pronunciation and also suggesting interest places to see and visit.

          We are soon losing internet so I will close for now and promise more soon...

          The fresh SW breeze was forecast to blow at least as strongly again today so we had two choices – stay put and relax or move elsewhere. We couldn't go in the preferred direction to the SW because of the wind but at least we could go westwards ie nearer Sweden and that is what we decided – to sail to Mariehamn, the capital of Åland and where we’ve been to a couple of times before. However, we hadn’t stayed in the west harbour – Mariehamn is unusual ...

          Just so you know, it is pronounced 'ohland'. It is spelled with a funny A with a circle on top which makes it an O. We took a ferry from Stockholm to these beautiful islands for the day.
