We booked our itinerary from Lucrene to Interlaken and to then to Jungfraujoch all at once. This passage is known as the Golden Passage, most beautiful scenery rail section in Switzerland or Europe. We did a push to the top, only maybe a couple of hundred steps but at that altitude it had us both puffing. By the time we got back to the main building we’d earned an ice-cream and we were ready for the cogwheel train journey down.

The crowd amazingly applauded for the little Australian boy and after the yodeling they lined up dozens of pints of beer in order to have a sculling contest. The Australian boy got to shine again. Beer sculling is like a national inheritance. A random American later said to Loren "Your boy sure can put 'em down!". Joel has never felt more Australian than at that moment. ...
