The second stop into the Black Forest region was the Maulbronn Abbey, a Monastery built sometime in the 1300s. The pamphlet we got mentioned it was over 800 years old, but I'm getting confused as some components were a little younger than that, like 600 years old. In any case, it was incredible. They had some descriptions of the masonry that was done to construct it. I just can't imagine the hard work ...

I wanted to get to the track early on Sunday to see the supporting races, but we ended up leaving late and the traffic on the autobahn was terrible. Thankfully Winfried dropped us off on the other side of town and we caught a shuttle bus to get to the track.
