... with shutter windows and cobblestone paths. The food was good but we became bored of the same menu everywhere we went: squid, salad, civapcici, potato fries, octopus, fish or pizza.
We celebrated happy hour each day at 5 ish with popcorn and drinks on the terrace, followed by dinner and entertainment. We played pictionary (hilarious), cards, watched a movie or danced around to ipod tunes.

From the strange news file: A Croatian man has drunk nothing but Coca-Cola for the past 40 years after making a promise to his mother that he would not touch alcohol. Pero Ajtman, 71, of Karanac, started drinking Coke in 1968 and has vowed to carry on until the day he dies. He explained to 24 Sata: "My mum didn't like me drinking when I was a young man as she was very religious. She ...
Croatia, Croatia happysheep... selling everything, i walked down Tkalciceva street which is a small street with quaint 19th century houses with lots of cafe`s full of people. I went to see a few churches and cathedrals and headed to Kravi Most (bloody bridge) which is a reminder of the often violent disputes between Gradec and Kaptol. There are lots of placks with the names of those who lost their lives and an altar where people pray daily and light candles to remember those who have died. I ...
Croatia, Croatia simbah... lovely islands, food and music on the boat. We were all cold and tired after a long day, and came back to the village to a great croatian roast.Tim and Natalie then went to an Irish pub where they met with some other cousins and came home smelling of smoke.

Starigrad, Croatia nipitiri... I was in shorts and sandals so it made for a great walk. We didn't have accomodations and we quickly found out that we got off at the wrong bus stop. We should have gotten off 3Km earlier where all the places were to stay. Lucky the toursit info was still open and she helped us find a place to stay. We got changed, had hot showers and headed out for a bite to eat. The next day we were hoping for sun only because the ...
Plitvice Lakes, Croatia mike81... it or not, there are actually two churches, one of which dates back to the 12th century and has ancient frescoes on the walls. Igor had to go ask at the caffe for the large skeleton key in order to let us in for a look. With its old stone farmhouses, the town reminded me of some of the villages we visited in France. Very appropriate that the trip would come full circle like that on the last day. Back in Opatija, we had a ...
Hum, Croatia moinmotion... them if they could stamp it for us, just so we could have proof t hat we went to Croatia (I know most people won't believe me) and the guy was like, you just do it. So I got to stamp my own passport, which was pretty damn cool! Anyways, we traveled around trying to figure out our plans for a while, and then we decided that the best idea was to go early the next day and just kick it around Dubrovnik for all of Wednesday. We got a taxi back to the boat so that we could drop off our big bags ...
Dubronik, Croatia meganatsea... to find the parking lot (which we had forgotten was on the other side of a highway crossed by a bridge) and our car. It was only when we stopped in one of the hotels which had a stuffed brown bear in its lobby that Chris realized how big and ferocious these animals really are! In any case, we made it back safe and sound having seen some amazing scenery. As an aside, there was a Japanese tourist group in the park early in the morning when we ...
