Inland to Takayama. Back tracked up the coast to Toyama and then went directly east. Very scenic ride following a mountain stream up into the interior. I am constantly amazed how forested Japan is ( not on the flat land of course) and how green and dense the trees are.

I have achieved. Today I managed to pay for a bottle of wine with only coins. Bottle of Chile's finest it was too! After a warm ryokan farewell we visited the fabulous Matsumoto Castle amid glorious cherry blossoms.
