Stopped at Osteria Verona in the main square for some predinner drinks and had some awesome house wine before going to La Taverna Di Via Stella for dinner. Really nice place with friendly staff and great food. Had ...

... of undying love to each other. Makes for quite a sight really. There were nice markets there and a sort of mini colosseum which is still used today for concerts.

There was also a statue of Juliet which is meant to bring you good luck if you rub her right breast. Her right breast is very polished!

We left Trieste, and set off for Venezia, and to visit some of Dad's friends who had visited Vanuatu a couple of times on sailing trips. Since they have always live on boats, their house was so small and almost looked like living on a boat as well! It was so cute, and very unlike a typical Italian house!! We had lunch there....mmm...moustache fish!! Haha ...

... of the station I saw a Blockbuster tucked against the beautiful Italian hill and wanted a picture of it, because it was so out of place, and there was a sex shop attached to it. But as I slowed to take out my camera I saw the guy again and noticed for the first time that I was in a pretty sketchy part of town. ... station which is where we had come in. We decided to find a cafe off the canal and have a coffee and sit down (there are few other places to actually sit). We had cappuccinos and 2 pieces of delicious chocolate cake and sat at a table, soaking up the sun. The bonus was that the cafe had a toilet for its customers, so we actually saved 6 Euro!! We had a reservation for a later train but decided to try and get an earlier ...

... ants nest. not the best pitch we have ever had. We spend the first day lounging by the lake, this part of the lake is dirty and nothing like the romantic picturesque images we were looking forward to. nevertheless it was relaxing the food was good and the beer was cold.
what more could I ask for?
a pitch in the shade away from the ants and the children, too much to ask?
