... overcrowded the UK roads are. As we approached one if the towns along the route we were pulled to the side of the road by a group of police men, one asked for our passports, he looked at them very carefully, then asked where we were going, we told him and he told us it was 90 kilometres straight on, Doris was saying 94 Kilometres, so he was quite close. When we arrived in the valley we drove up a steep zig zagging road to Ambelakia, it's nestled in the hillside. In the ...

On the way down Simon was being a pain and tickling me when I was trying to take photos and I threatened to put him in the skull room and leave him there!! This morning we checked out of the hotel and headed up the mountain to visit St Stephen Monastery. The view was absolutely gorgeous on the way. We drove past several Byzantine (Byzantine means the period of time between the 4th century AD to the 15th century AD) monasteries that are built at the tops of ...

Off the ferry and drove to a ruin at Dodoni. Met an English guy there who told us a about Vikos gorge near Ionia that we shouldn't miss.

Drove up to the gorge past all the old pack horse stone bridges in Zagoria - to the top of the gorge and up the mountain behind it ... very spectacular scenery. Particularly nice parked up the top in the middle of a thnderstorm.

... in case I had an issue. Coming into the mountains, the scenery was breathtaking! Delphi, population 1000, is a village nestled up in the mountains, home of the oldest civilization, and "navel of the world". I loved it before the bus even pulled up. It overlooks a valley filled with olive trees leading to a smaller town in the distance right on the sea port. I dropped my bag off in my single room - really nice with TV, A/C, private bathroom, balcony and sheets. I walked a ...
