The girls I was rooming with last night didn't get home until 2:30am and had to wake me up so I could let them in which was a bit annoying since I was sleeping so well! Feeling a lot brighter this morning and breakfast looked delicious, I just had a bread roll to see how I go though. Not too long of a driving day today, only about 5 hours. We had our service stop at a petrol station with a fast food chain attached and I got some plain crackers to have while Si got a yummy ...

The Turks Paid For It, But the Greeks Built It!

... was completely ridiculous and had us driving down an impossibly steep dirt and rock road that would have made the one driven by Don Knotts in "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" look like a turnpike. After aborting that route we crossed and re-crossed a dam three times before finally settling on a road that seemed like we could at least live with and keep four wheels on the ground at the same time. This part of the exercise had been ...

... Meteora is a natural wonder of earth. It’s a set of rocks built over the years, creating a vast and impressive amount of huge rocks and cliffs. The biggest and oldest one of all is the Great Meteoro.

In the past no girls were allowed to enter none of the ...

Off the ferry and drove to a ruin at Dodoni. Met an English guy there who told us a about Vikos gorge near Ionia that we shouldn't miss.

Drove up to the gorge past all the old pack horse stone bridges in Zagoria - to the top of the gorge and up the mountain behind it ... very spectacular scenery. Particularly nice parked up the top in the middle of a thnderstorm.

Meteora --- a geological phenomena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and bedrock of Orthodox Christianity stood erect ahead of us. It loomed above & before our eyes even through the windshield of our Opal-Astra. We couldn't get there fast enough. Speed limit 90 km/hr. Instead, we pressed the gas pedal and zoomed forward at 140 km/hr.
