... movie 300 that's the war they are referring to here) and once more to stretch our legs. Our hotel is a lot fancier than we were expecting and we have a fantastic view of the meteora's. Apparently tomorrow we will be seeing a nunnery and a monastery. We are required to wear clothes that cover us from shoulder to knees. I'm excited but cautious at he same time. It doesn't look like it did in all the photos. Only tomorrow will ...

... at a beach for Dave to swim...He logged another sea ( the Aegean). We had beer and octopus tentacle in a little local place with no menu. He waiter was so cute when I asked about a menu. We didnīt let such a bad luck ruin our mood and decided to go and have lunch in a fast food ...

Off the ferry and drove to a ruin at Dodoni. Met an English guy there who told us a about Vikos gorge near Ionia that we shouldn't miss.

Drove up to the gorge past all the old pack horse stone bridges in Zagoria - to the top of the gorge and up the mountain behind it ... very spectacular scenery. Particularly nice parked up the top in the middle of a thnderstorm.

... its many luscious curves. Therefore what looks like a reasonably straightforward hike by foot is a very windy route by car, so hoofing it all that way would be suicidal. Lucky Mr. Poland (we never did find out his name) and his 4-wheel drive made short work of that. And so we reached the top of the spire, staring across a gaping chasm at a monastery that looks like it is about to slide off the edge. How it stays perched atop that cliff I will know. Meteora ...
