... I was shuffling around minimising movement. The pharmacist seemed to accept that mutism was part of my disease and didn't ask me too many questions, but I was handed a combination med called Eve, which had ibuprofen, caffeine, and apronalide in it. I still have yet to find out what the latter actually is. A one liner on wiki says it's a hypnotic/sedative, it is not listed in the BNF, and its only other English Google search return is on which discusses ...

... until I completely lose track, look a bit gormless, and have to explain that I can't actually speak Japanese. The train system is very sophisticated with numerous routes, rapid and slow lines, and carriages with reserved seats that aren't at all marked as such. Because I'm now a fair distance from Tokyo, the place is no longer designed for tourists and there aren't any more English hints. The supermarket was another hurdle. On the western edge of beach we found free parking right along the sand and a surprisingly lack of bodies. We unloaded the car and walked straight out to the water. ... Buddha statue. It was cast in 1252 an originally was in a temple, but since 1495 it has been outdoors. It is the second tallest bronze Buddha statue in Japan (13.35m).

I am happy to report that we are much more adept with the train system now. We reloaded our train cards (found the English button on the kiosk!) and maneuvered through a relatively large station and a few smaller ones. We went on multiple lines today and even went on a monorail. We’re almost ...

... a group of friends at Pottery Beach. It was a beautiful spot with a lighthouse, clearer water and lots of shells, sea glass and pottery to sift through. Unfortunately at one point Will ran too far in water and over a drop-off. I got to him very quickly, and he was fine. He had no issues venturing right back in, but that only added to my unease. It was also my first time driving to an unknown and fairly far away location, and my nerves were quite raw by the time I ...
