We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

... have to get on the autostrada some of the way to get some kilometers behind me, it was a long drive.
I have really enjoyed driving along the Mediterranean coast, but heading into the mountains again was nice. There wasn't much traffic on the smaller roads and the weather was still really nice.


I could see snow covered mountains to the West and asume it was the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence area in Southern France. ...

... 1 night but unfortunately we needed to get to our airport hotel in Milan so we could fly to Croatia the following day. So we had to get the ferry back to Como station. The ferry took 2 hours and we went past George Clooney's house! A beautifully surfaced road beribboned with hairpins and fast curves winds up the mountain. We intend to take the small dead-end road from the top of the pass up another 500 metres in altitude to the Oberaar lake and dam with its glorious views.

... luck in the small villages along the Fiume Adda. But after about 10 Km I saw a small garage that looked open so I stopped.
The guy didn't speak english but we managed with hand signals pointing and showing him that I wanted 10W40. I needed a new speedo cable as well, but he didn't have any for an old Japanese bike. Fair enough, I know roughly how fast I am going.
