... on the site), including Charles V Spanish style palace, and the old Alcazaba, the fort of the Alhambra. But the true gem was the Palacio Nazaries. The intricate scripture on the plaster walls was amazing. The architecture and homage to water, with buildings reflected in huge ponds, is something you wouldn´t find anywhere else in Spain. The only let down was the Lion´s Fountain...the guidebook says its the ¨most photographed¨ part of the Alhambra ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands tommcatt... get pretty frustrating. I’m making an effort to be friendly and talk to them though. For example, tonight I made a point of sitting with 2 Spaniards at dinner, I asked them a couple questions and they responded but that’s about as far as the conversation went. After they left, though, another Spaniard came and sat with us and he was really nice so hopefully after some time everyone will be more comfortable with each other.

... was HUGE, cheap drinks, full of people, awesome music being played everywhere by guitarists and singers jamming out, just awesome. And we made it just in time. The show was realllly good, even though it was only 15 minutes long. Flamenco has to be THE most intense form of dance ive ever seen, like its jsut crazy, so much foot work almost like clogging or step dancing or some version of tap, lots of percussion work between the dancer, singer and guitar player, its just so cool. Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands sromanuck... Centro". Why is there so much graffiti on walls and buildings all over Europe? It’s a virus. Our room was on the top floor by itself, more like an attic, with a panoramic view over the tiled rooftops and a tub the size of PEI. I have a photo of me in there this afternoon trying to cool down…..a photo for another time…..!
We drifted about, exploring, the first afternoon ...
... She walks towards the cashier and puts it all on the nearest rack and exits. Then, as you leave the store, you happen to mention that the blue one was really nice and she walks right back in, purchases it and says, "I feel like a beer." Ah. We ended the night with tapas and beer. I had a day long toothache that became a headache and we went back to the hotel. Carrie wants to wake up early tomorrow morning and do some "serious" shopping. God help me. 3/18/09
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands teemoshi... is a nice view of the Sierra Nevadas from our family room window. I have view of the all of the clothes lines from the building from my window. The houses are really cold in the winter. The floors are all marble and they don't have much heating in the homes because it gets really hot in the summer and winter does not last long. They are having a really bad cold snap right ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands mcb122... used it as a base to explore Barcelona. Mont Gat is a beach with a mountain of rocks at the end of it, home to lots of stray cats who are looked after by people from around the city who come to feed them. As well as visiting the obvious sights; the gothic quarter, La Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, Gaudi's park, we spent a few hours looking through the Casa Batllo, an apartment block designed by Gaudi that seems to come alive with themes of the ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands kitty... asking if I have a picture of my dog, and loves my pictures of my family. I also have a 17 year old sister, names Olga. She is out a lot, and she talks super fast, but I told her I need to know all the famous Spanish stars, so she's helping me out with that. Plus, we watch Friends in Spanish too. Also, there is annother study abroad kid from Hawaii who lives with me. He's nice as well. Classes are okay, but it's school no matter where you ...
Granada, Spain dbieste2... rolled up in my backpack) is completely squashed. But its on canvas, I'm thinking I might try ironing it when I get home, that will either salvage it or completely wreck it! But thats life eh?! I made they day trip to Toledo, again, the feeling of been there, done that was there. But I know I would have regretted it if I hadn't gone tho, I had to see what it was all about. It was a touristy place, wandering through the mazes of small streets was fun, as always!
