It's something we had heard about but never witnessed for ourselves that we just don't see in New Zealand. You don't have to fight for your patch of sand. As usual I just followed my nose and ended up fine - I emerged 1 block away from a sign indicating the next own we were to pass through, and 2 blocks later not only was I back on route but I found a great place to stop for a bite to eat. ... t take long to see some of the others--Michael & Lucie and Sue & Don--at a tapas bar enjoying sangrias. We joined them, and after seeing the long list of items on the tapas menu decided to order up a few as dinner. It was such a Spanish thing to do, sipping sangria and nibbling tapas in the streets of old Girona. On the way back to the bus I picked up a decadent chocolate gelato cone, and that was the end of our day.
