... I do know Italian, some of the pushy drivers knew exactly what my gesticulations meant and I understood theirs easily enough. Bruce could not find the place of our accommodation but a kind lady took us there. Well what a surprise, self contained villa, kitchen lounge, bedroom, bathroom and laundry in magnificent grounds and the price includes breakfast, you can see the photos on Facebook. We dined with my aunt, uncle and cousin (Ivanno) for a couple of hours, and was lucky enough to catch a few minutes with my other cousin (Walter) before he left for the evening. The meal was a superb Italian home cooked dinner, while drinking plenty of homemade Prosecco.

We had a refreshing spritzer drink on the old bridge (Ponte degli Alpini) in Bassano, toured the Poli grappa museum and then walked around the city while enjoying a delicious gelato. A very pleasant, informative, gastronomic experience. In the evening Paolo and Ornella drove us to Pedavena, where we ate some traditional German food and ...

... driving on the right hand side but I think I did ok! I drove us round most of the day. We went up to San Martino to say goodbye to Nonna Mela. She knitted the boys a vest each, which they look very cute in. Luca was refusing to put his on but Nonna Mela got it in him eventually. He took it off the minute we left!! We let her have her afternoon nap and went off to have lunch. We took the boys to a ...
